Simple and Smart Flow Injection Type Water Quality Meter Driven by Brilliant Colored Reagent

This paper reports a truly simple and small flow injection-type water quality meter to watch residual level of chlorine in tap-water. A new measurement method by using a mixture of target reagent and the opposite-colored dye is proposed. The dye’s colorimetric data brings the information of added reagent volume and flow speed along micro reaction channel. Using this, chlorine colorimetric data can be corrected, combined with advective diffusion model. This enables to abolish rigid and high precision flow system perfectly without losing analytical performance.
