Compact LSPR Biosensor System for Early Virus Detection Integrated with a Filter-Free Wavelength Sensor and LED

We demonstrate a compact virus detection system integrating a filter-free wavelength sensor and LED with the localized surface plasmon resonance biosensor. We evaluated the spectral characteristics and optimized the wavelength of the LED light source for system miniaturization using the three types of LSPR sensors fabricated by the focused ion beam. The change in the current ratio of the sensor after immobilization from self-assembled monolayer to S-protein RBD of SARS-Cov-2 was 1.37~1.91 times more sensitive using the LED light source. The proposed system realizes a sensitive and compact virus detection system in this result.
