Study of Molten Steel Level Sensor

This article describes the study results of a molten metal level sensor for use in metallurgy. A study of coil models was carried out taking into account their proportions, and the results of the distribution of the magnetic field along their axis, as well as the current consumption and the level of eddy current losses in the molten metal and the mold body were obtained. The data obtained make it possible to evaluate the effectiveness of coil's various proportions and give recommendations on their choice. The distance from the sensor to the surface of the molten metal, which is the limit for this type of sensor, has been determined. All data is presented in the form of tables and convenient graphs, which allows readers to easily perceive the results of this study.
