2D MOFs Nanosheets

Summary

In this chapter, we will comprehensively overview two‐dimensional metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) nanosheets, colloquially called 2D MOFs nanosheets, as an emerging type of 2D materials, due to their unique properties including enhanced conductivity, high porosity, tailorable pore sizes and shapes, various framework architectures, large surface area, tunable structure, ultrathin thickness, and tunable chemical functionalities. In the next section, as a result of their properties, a summary of approaches has been discussed to produce 2D MOFs nanosheets by using of top‐down method, e.g. sonication exfoliation, mechanical exfoliation, chemical exfoliation, Langmuir–Blodgett method and solvent‐induced exfoliation, and bottom‐up methods, i.e. interfacial synthesis, surfactant‐assisted method, template method, and sonication synthesis. Last but not least point which should mentioned would be the applications of 2D MOFs nanosheets. According to this, the compounds have attracted more and more attentions as potential candidates for gas separation, adsorption, chemical sensing, biomimetic catalysis and bio‐related analytical applications, electrocatalysis, and many other applications.
