Analysis of the Characteristics of High-Quality Live Streaming Teaching Platforms Based on Students' Real Learning Experiences

Currently, there is a significant issue of functional homogenization among various live streaming teaching platforms. The focus on learner experience is fundamental to the construction of high-quality live streaming teaching platforms. This study employed a mixed-methods approach that combined qualitative and quantitative research methods. Mainly focused on learners' learning experiences in various live teaching platforms, structured surveys were conducted with 70 university students. The study aimed to understand the preference of learners who had deep experiences in various live teaching platforms towards different platforms and to break through the limitations of comparing platforms solely based on availability of functionalities. Taking user experience as a starting point and adopting a higher-level perspective, this study identified five core dimensions of well-experienced live streaming teaching platforms: usability, interactivity, engagement, supportiveness, and sense of respect. Starting from user experience, five core feature dimensions of a high-quality live teaching platform were identified: usability, interactivity, engagement, support, and respect. The specific functional design of a live teaching platform with a good experience under each feature dimension was clarified, and the quantitative reference points were made clear to indicate the level of attention that learners had towards different features. This research aimed to assist live streaming teaching platforms in optimizing and updating their architecture from a user experience standpoint offering support for innovative design and promoting the high-quality and efficient development of live streaming education.
