Correlation Analysis Between Electrification and Energy Efficiency of Park-Level Integrated Energy System Considering Operational Optimization

In this paper, we propose the evaluation indices for the electrification level and energy efficiency of park-level Integrated Energy System (IES), and explore the intrinsic correlation between the two based on the operation optimization results. First, the historical annual load curves of the IES are clustered to obtain 8 typical daily cooling and heating load curves, and the capacities of various energy-supply facilities are selected based on the maximum values of the typical daily loads, including combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP), gas boiler (GB), electric boiler (EB), air conditioner (AC), electric energy storage (ESS), and power substation (SUB). Secondly, the operation of different facilities is optimized with the minimum annual operating cost as the objective function, thus both the electrification level and energy efficiency can be calculated and assessed, as well as the operation strategies. Finally, by adjusting the percentage of CCHP's heating supply, the operation mode of the IES is changed with the other facilities' adjustment, the correlation between the electrification level and the energy efficiency is obtained. Case studies are carried out based on a real industrial park in Guangdong, China, and the results show the effectiveness of the proposed evaluation indices, while the electrification level shows a positive correlation with the energy efficiency level.
