Reactive Power Planning Contributed by Energy Storage Under Uncertainty of Renewables and Load

Reactive planning of the power system aims to optimize the location and capacity of the reactive power sources to minimize the economic cost of the system while improving the voltage security of the system using the optimization theory. However, the randomness of renewable sources and the variety of loads challenge the system by introducing uncertainty to the system. Therefore, a multi-scenario based reactive planning method is proposed in this paper by combining the typical scenario generation technique and the coordinated dispatch model of active-reactive power, which can be modelled as a second-order cone programming problem. Finally, this reactive planning model is validated in an IEEE-14 system.
