Economic Transmission Distance Analysis Based on Three Different Offshore Wind Farm Integration Schemes

This paper takes the transmission distance of offshore wind farm as the entry point, carries out the economic analysis of three different offshore wind farm integration schemes, and determines the economic transmission distance interval of each scheme. This paper introduces the characteristics and structures of three offshore wind farm integration schemes, and deeply analyzes the total cost of each scheme, mainly considering the cost of submarine cable line, the loss of submarine cable transmission, the devise costs of the offshore booster station and converter and the loss of the converter's valve. By calculating the carrying current of submarine cable and the current along the submarine cable, we can select the appropriate the type of submarine cable to determine the cost of submarine cable line and the loss of submarine cable transmission. By the collection of project information and the simulation of PSCAD/EMTDC software, we can determine the type of converter and the offshore booster station and the loss of the converter's valve. Finally, taking the transmission distance of offshore wind power as the independent variable, the total cost function of different schemes is established, and the conclusion is drawn by combining with specific examples. By selecting the type of submarine cable and converter, calculating the loss of submarine cable transmission and the loss of the converter's valve, the total cost functions of different schemes are established with the transmission distance of offshore wind farm as the independent variable. Combined with specific examples, the conclusion is drawn.
