Optimal Scheduling of Thermal and Carbon Capture Power Plants Considering Power-to-Gas Synergies

In order to promote multi-energy complementation and make full use of clean energy, this paper proposes a multi-energy complementation economic dispatch model including conventional thermal power units, carbon capture units, cogeneration units, gas-fired boilers, and P2G equipment. The carbon capture unit can capture the CO2 from the thermal power unit as the raw material for electric conversion to gas, and the methane generated can also be used as the raw material for cogeneration units and gas boilers. The heat generated by cogeneration units and gas-fired boilers can also supply energy for the heat load. The calculation example shows that the system can not only save costs, but also have great environmental benefits.
