Research on Demand Response Strategies for Distributed Energy Storage in Energy and Peak-Shaving Markets

As power systems undergo low-carbon and green transition, the penetration level of grid-connected renewable energy sources continues to grow. However, the inherent unpredictability of renewable energy output presents significant challenges for grid stability. In this context, this paper introduces a unified clearing model that combines energy and peak-shaving markets, utilizing distributed energy storage. Within this market framework, energy storage devices not only facilitate peak shaving and valley filling in the day-ahead market but also provide energy storage capacity in the realtime market, addressing the inherent unpredictability of grid electricity consumption. In conclusion, the paper affirms the validity of the proposed model and methodology through an illustrative arithmetic example analysis. Participation in this market not only bolsters storage aggregators' revenue by supplying energy storage capacity to the grid but also plays a crucial role in enhancing grid stability.
