Discussion and Analysis on Key Technologies and Strategies of Virtual Power Plants for the Spot Electricity Market

With the implementation of the new power system, there is a shortage of traditional regulatory resources in the power system. Virtual power plants (VPP) as a new form of load side resource aggregation, can serve as an important load resource for regulating the balance of the power system. This article starts with the concept and basic architecture of VPP, and analyzes and discusses typical virtual typical cases worldwide. Based on the development of VPP both domestically and internationally, this paper analyzes the key technologies of information technology and market participation in VPP operation. Based on the development and pilot situation of VPP in China, it analyzes the potential problems that VPP may face and discusses solutions, providing a path reference for the development of VPP in China.
