Evaluation Strategy for the Complementary Characteristics of Renewable Generation at Sending and Load Demand at Receiving Ends

Wind and photovoltaic power generation exhibit complementary characteristics on a spatiotemporal scale. Additionally, a degree of synchronization exists between renewable generation and load demand on a spatiotemporal scale. To assess the complementary features of the renewable power generation at sending end and the load demands at receiving end, this article primarily establishes two evaluation metrics including the temporal similarity coefficient (a) and fluctuation consistency coefficient (P). Finally, in the case study the complementary characteristics between renewable power generation and load demands are analyzed by a combined photovoltaic and wind power generation system on typical days.
