Reliability Assessment of Electricity-Heat Integrated Energy System Considering Thermal Characteristics

Integrated energy systems (lESs) can not only realize the management, coordination, and optimization of different energy sources but also multi-energy complementarity. It is of great significance to evaluate the reliability of lESs. This paper proposes a reliability assessment method for electricity-heat integrated energy systems considering the delay of flow in the heat network and load point thermal inertia. First, the calculation method for multi-energy flows and the load shedding model considering the principles of economy and reliability of IESs are presented. Secondly, the mechanism of flow delay in the heat network and load point thermal inertia on the reliability assessment results is investigated in detail. On this basis, the reliability assessment method for electricity-heat IESs is proposed, which includes reliability indices and reliability assessment procedures. Finally, case studies are carried out on a real-world electricity-heat IES of a park, and the results show that the characteristics of the heat network considerably influence the reliability assessment results, and the reliability of the electricity-heat coupling system is significantly improved compared to that of the independent operating system.
