Aggregation Mechanism between Virtual Power Plants and Distributed Energy Resources

There is a need for aggregation between virtual power plants (VPP) and distributed energy resources (DER), but the aggregation process lacks effective guidance and the aggregation capacity of VPP lacks reference benchmarks. Therefore, this article proposes a VPP-DER aggregation mechanism based on the National Intern Matching Program (NIMP) algorithm, which considers global-local information coordination and is led by the power grid corporation. Firstly, a two-layer optimization approach is proposed to coordinate global and local information. The upper layer constructs a capacity pre-optimization model with the goal of maximizing social benefits, starting from the power grid corporation, and uses the pre-optimization results as the benchmark for VPP. Based on this benchmark and local information, the lower layer proposes a method for aggregating the cooperation tendency sequence of both parties. The VPP combines this sequence to generate its own profits and reports the sequence to the power grid corporation. Then, considering the benefits and grid access fee, a bilateral matching aggregation method for VPP and DER is proposed based on the NIMP algorithm. Finally, using data based on VPP and DER in some areas of Lishui, Zhejiang as an example, the economic benefits of the proposed aggregation mechanism were verified, and the impact of the size of DER capacity and the location of the substation on the aggregation results is analyzed.
