Research on the Influence of Stray Inductance on the Breaking Performance of DC Circuit Breakers

With the continuous increase in the capacity of DC transmission and distribution systems, the parallel design of internal components in DC circuit breakers has become the conventional solution to address the requirements of high current flow and circuit interruption. To analyze the impact of loop stray inductance on the parallel breaking performance of DC circuit breakers, the effects of loop stray inductance on the parallel breaking performance of the main current branch and power electronic branch of the DC circuit breaker are studied in this paper based on a coupled negative-voltage hybrid DC circuit breaker, and verified through breaking tests. Finally, this thesis introduces the specific application of the research results in two typical flexible DC transmission and distribution projects, providing a reference for the design and engineering application of high-capacity parallel interruption DC circuit breakers.
