Economy Analysis of Demand Response Combined with Different Energy Storage Configuration Modes in Data Centers

As an indispensable infrastructure in the foreseeable future, data centers have developed rapidly. The number and scale of data centers continue to grow with rapidly increased power consumption, becoming one of the elemental loads of the future power grid. To reduce energy consumption and improve profits of current data centers, this research focuses on the feasibility of configuring energy storage in data centers. By summarizing expenditure and earnings of configuring energy storage in the data center, a comprehensive optimization configuration model for electric and cold energy storage is constructed. While meeting the basic energy needs of both electric and cold energy, the configuration capacity and power of both cold and electrical energy storage are optimized to minimize the total cost of equal annual value within the system's life cycle. The economy of different energy storage combinations is compared and the optimal data center energy storage configuration mode is obtained.
