Optimal Integration of Wind+BESS and Solar+BESS Hybrid Microgrids Based on Cooperative Transactions

In response to explicit directives mandating the incorporation of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in new energy power generation, this paper introduces the integration of wind+BESS and solar+BESS hybrid microgrids based on cooperative transactions, forming multiple regulation and response strategies to encourage renewable energy consumption. With the peer-to-peer (P2P) trading technique, the proposed approach facilitates collaborative alliances between wind+BESS and solar+BESS hybrid microgrids during periods of power surplus or shortage. The objective of these alliances is to circumvent the sale of power at suboptimal prices and the purchase of power at inflated rates from the distribution system. A cooperative trading approach between hybrid microgrids is presented and the cooperative surplus is calculated based on the Shapley value method. With case studies, the efficacy of cooperative transactions in optimizing the integration of wind+BESS and solar+BESS hybrid microgrids is further validated. The analysis shows that cooperative transactions improve the overall benefits of wind+BESS and solar+BESS hybrid microgrid alliances, reduce the burden of distribution network, and foster the fair sharing of BESS costs among microgrids.
