Investigation of 8×10Gbps WDM System Incorporating Fiber-FSO link

As the high data traffic is on peak and several users are approaching unlimited online information. In this paper, an 8×10Gbps wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system using integrated fiber and free space optics link is reported and investigated. Results indicate that faithful fiber range of 50km can be obtained successfully at fixed FSO range of 10km. Moreover FSO range can be extended till 50km with constant 10km fiber link. Moreover, the comparative analysis of the realized work with other ones indicates its superiority in terms of throughput, range and capacity.
