Cyclic Heap Permutation Based Reconfiguration of Solar PV Array for Optimal Shade Dispersion

Partial shading poses a critical challenge to optimizing the performance of photovoltaic (PV) systems, affecting the attainment of maximum power output and overall system efficiency. Inadequate management of partial shading conditions (PSCs) can threaten the stability and effectiveness of PV systems. This study presents an innovative reconfiguration approach grounded in a cyclic heap permutation strategy, to alleviate the detrimental effects of Partial Shading Conditions (PSCs). Through the strategic redistribution of shading effects, the proposed reconfiguration method improves the efficiency of PV systems across a spectrum of shading scenarios. Rigorous performance evaluations, considering various shading cases and configurations, reveal the efficacy of the proposed cyclic heap permutation-based reconfiguration technique. We also highlight its versatility and adaptability across different PV array sizes and shading conditions. This study adds to continuous endeavors aimed at fortifying the resilience and improving the efficiency of solar PV systems confronted with partial shading challenges.
