An ultrathin compact orientation insensitive chipless RFID tag with high bit capacity.

Radiofrequency identification (RFID) technology has been gaining traction in various industries for its applications in identification and tracking. Lately, there has been a growing interest in chipless RFID tags due to their cost-effectiveness and wide-ranging utility. Among the innovations in this domain, orientation-independent chipless RFID tags are emerging as promising solutions for future sensing devices. The primary objective of this paper is to investigate the adaptability of chipless RFID tags, specifically in terms of their resistance to rotation. The second objective is to attain high coding capacity simultaneously. The research delves into using octagonal resonators to achieve orientation-independent properties in the tag. The design of the chipless RFID tag employs an octagonal resonator pattern on a 0.15 mm-thick FR-4 substrate with an overall size of 22 x 22mm

. The proposed tag comprises eleven concentric octagonal resonators, and the study also explores its potential for high bit-capacity applications.
