Urbansafeguard: A Comprehensive Smart Streetlight Solution

With the increasing demand for safer urban environments, this project introduces a Smart Street Lighting System designed to enhance both safety and energy efficiency. The system integrates infrared (IR) motion sensors for adaptive street lighting and sound sensors for intelligent accident detection. When motion is detected, the system activates the street lights, ensuring well-lit pathways for pedestrians and drivers. In the event of a potential accident, the sound sensor is triggered to assess the sound level. If the sound surpasses a predefined threshold, a camera captures a photo, and an alert notification with the image is sent to a designated email address. This innovative approach not only contributes to sustainable urban development through energy-efficient lighting but also addresses the critical need for prompt accident detection and reporting in public spaces. The paper details the hardware and software components, presents experimental results, and discusses the system's impact on urban safety.
