Study on Fluid-Structure Coupling Algorithm and Bird Flight Dynamics Based on Star-CCM+

Fluid-solid coupling (FSC) algorithm is a numerical method to establish the coupling relationship between fluid mechanics and solid mechanics. In bird flight, FSC algorithm can describe the interaction between air and bird body. In this article, the application of FSC algorithm based on Star-CCM+ in the study of bird flight dynamics is studied. By establishing a bird flight model, fuzzy PID controller and conventional PID controller are used to control the model, and the control results are simulated and analyzed. By comparing the simulation results, it is found that the fuzzy PID controller has smaller overshoot and shorter adjustment time than the conventional PID controller, and can control the pitching attitude angle of the aircraft more accurately, and has better dynamic and steady-state performance. These results show that the FSC algorithm based on Star-CCM+ can provide an effective means for the study of bird flight dynamics, and the fuzzy PID controller has potential application value in bird flight simulation.
