Research and Application of 3D Geological Overburden Modeling Method Based on Polynomial Regression

3D geological model is an important means for geologists to analyze engineering geological problems. 3D geological modeling requires a lot of data, but borehole can only obtain single discrete point information, so it is particularly important to extend the data based on the existing data and interpolation method. In order to find the best interpolation method, this paper compared Linear Regression (LR) model and Polynomial Regression (PR) model, determined the best degree parameter of PR model. On this basis, the 3D geological overburden modeling of Niushou Mountain area is developed. The results show that the Mean Square Error (MSE) value of PR model is smaller than that of LR model; the 3D geological model constructed by polynomial Regression (LR) model can reflect the real spatial distribution of overburden.
