Evaluating Taiwanese Undergraduate and Graduate students' Demands for Mobile Phone English Learning Applications Using KANO Model

With an increasing number of mobile phone applications for language learning, it is crucial to understand users' demands and preferences for the effective and engaging design of platforms. Thus, using the KANO model, we evaluated the requirements of undergraduate and graduate students of Taiwanese universities in English learning applications. The results indicated that the English learning application aided students significantly in their language acquisition process. Based on the findings. We observed variations in the demands of students at different academic levels. Additionally, the different genders exhibited distinct demands for the English learning application. Students required several additional features appealing to them, such as allocation, summary, interactive quizzes, and the ability to search for vocabulary directly on the application's interface rather than using a search bar. The findings of this study contribute to the design and development of mobile phone English learning applications so that they meet the demands and preferences of Taiwanese students.
