Experimental Study of the Multi-Position Acoustic Localization Method for Impulse Sound Source

The results of developing the method of multi-position passive acoustic location of sound sources using linked microphones are presented. An analysis of passive monitoring methods was performed, their advantages and limitations were presented. Key characteristics of the passive system were analyzed, such as the influence of sensor placement, applied models, and the use of different types of receivers. An experiment was conducted for a system of three receivers and a single point impulse sound source at various positions. Comparison with numerical solutions showed results matching with an accuracy exceeding the estimated allowable error. The obtained results confirmed the viability of the chosen experimental setup and its potential application in future work.
