Development of a Feedback Information System Using Augmented Reality Glasses to Improve Myoelectric Prostheses and Medical Rehabilitation

The article is devoted to the development of an information feedback system using the framework of augmented reality glasses for myoelectric prostheses and medical rehabilitation systems. The hardware and software complex allows you to visually see the activity of the user's muscles, registered with several electrodes and tags for limb recognition and visualization of muscle activity. The algorithm for calculating values in this development consists of two methods. The first involves calculating correlation coefficients by comparing two arrays of signal values (previous and current) and obtaining a correlation coefficient between them. This method uses the Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. The next and, at the same time, the main method is the calculation of absolute values. It implies smoothing the received signal and then obtaining the accumulated sum of the differences modulo the values of the original and smoothed signals. The algorithms are quite simple, because they will be implemented on insufficiently powerful microcontrollers. In the case of a video presentation, it is optimal to use augmented reality glasses that broadcast an informational video image combined with what the user sees through a lens system in the surrounding space. Visualization is carried out by constructing a Voronoi diagram using the Fortune algorithm. This algorithm was chosen to optimize the operation of the program. A series of tests were conducted, during which optimal indicators were determined. The result of the development can be used for further possible commercialization and mass production of software and hardware complexes for highly effective home rehabilitation or professional sports.
