A Novel Lightweight Wireless Charging System for UAV Applications

This paper presents an innovative wireless charging system specifically designed for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The system boasts 200 W output power with 1.77 Oz of weight on the receiver, achieved through meticulous magnetic and circuit optimization techniques, which effectively maximize power density in relation to weight and volume. Distinguishing itself from traditional planar coils, this system utilizes a conical coil configuration, offering a unique geometry that enables tailored loss optimization criteria. An essential aspect of the system's design is its control mechanism, which ensures maximum transmitted power while carefully monitoring temperature levels to enable rapid charging without exceeding safe thresholds. The proposed system will undergo rigorous testing to evaluate its performance comprehensively.
