Design Method of Impedance Transformation Network for Robust Resonant Power Converters with Wide Load Impedance Variation

This paper proposes a design method of impedance transformation network for a robust resonant power converter with a wide load impedance variation range. The proposed method is based on the analysis of the general impedance conversion characteristics of a two-port passive network. Thus, a systematic design procedure that does not require case-studies is established. This method can be utilized to design impedance transformation networks that meet various industry-required robust properties such as constant power (CP), constant voltage (CV), and constant current (CC). The feasibility of the proposed design method is verified by simulation results with a 3.3-kW, 150-kHz DC-DC converter prototype with CP capability.
