Braille Cube Teaching- Learning Gadget for inclusive education: B-Cube

This paper shows the methodology of construction of Braille Cube Teaching- Learning Gadget (B-Cube) using low cost hardware and open source software. Forward inclusive education this gadget has be designed in order to improve the learning capabilities and writing abilities. This mechatronic gadget has six mini stepper motors for reading, as well as 6 buttons for writing, both controlled by the ESP8622 board. Braille is an important means of communication for people with total or partial visual impairment. It is a tactile sensory system which must be translated through dots engraved on a surface which represent letters of the alphabet, numbers and some characters. Like any language, this system has its own syntax restricted to the combination of 6 dots bounded in a 3×2 matrix. The B-cube system can support the teaching and learning of Braille not only to people with partial or total visual impairment, but to the rest of the population in order to generate an inclusive education.
