Influence of track irregularity on train hunting motion at speeds of 300~400km/h

Most of the existing studies focus on the influence of track irregularity on the overall performance of vehicle systems, and rarely involve the influence of track irregularity on hunting movement. The system dynamics model of high-speed train with hunting critical speed range of 300~400km/h is established, and the actual hunting frequency range of high-speed train at this speed is 2~21Hz. Three groups of track irregularity wavelength range are divided according to actual hunting frequency range. The amplitude coefficient of track irregularity wavelength is scaled to study the influence of track irregularity wavelength and amplitude on high-speed train hunting motion. In order to further refine the sensitive wavelength range of track irregularity, unimodal harmonic track irregularity is used as the system excitation, and the harmonic frequency range is 2~21Hz. Combined with the above analysis, it is concluded that the sensitive wavelength range of track irregularity that has a significant impact on hunting motion at the speed of 300~400km/h is 7~56m. Finally, the influence of track irregularity on hunting movement is summarized.
