Research on Classification of 5G Network Slicing Security Capabilities

Network slice security is the prerequisite for introducing network slicing to vertical industries. 5G network support many differentiated slicing security capabilities. So the security capabilities of one slice need to be decided based on customers’ requirements and the security capabilities that the network is capable of providing. However, it’ s not easy for the slice customers or the network operators to choose and provision the security capabilities of one slice based on security requirements. This paper introduces the differentiated 5G network slicing security capabilities, proposes a classification methodology mapping between slice security capabilities and slice security effect. We also shows the potential usage scenarios of this methodology including selecting security capabilities for one slice and decomposition and propagation of slice security related intents during slice life cycle to achieve intent-driven slice security provision.
