Flexible Iterative Synthesis of Equiripple Filtering Functions

This paper presents an iterative synthesis method for equiripple filtering functions with great flexibility. It is not only suitable for the synthesis of single-band filtering functions but also can synthesize equiripple dual-band filters with fully prescribed performance. The proposed method can be used to synthesize symmetric or asymmetric responses, and the traditional generalized Chebyshev equiripple filter function can be seen as a case of the proposed method. Two substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filters that one is bandpass filter and the other is dual-band are synthesized and designed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
