Cluster Based Channel Estimation for mmWave Massive MIMO Systems With Lens Antenna

Millmeter wave massive multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) systems with lens antenna is a promising architecture in the future communciation. We propose a new channel estimation scheme for uplink channel in mmWave massive MIMO systems with lens antenna in this paper, where the cluster sparisty and structure prior are both considered. In our proposed scheme, we utilize a non-uniform grid to quantize the angle of arrival(AoA) and characterize the cluster sparsity through the structure prior. We model the uplink channel estimation problem as a multiple measurement vector (MMV) problem, which is solved by our proposed algorithm based sparse Bayesian learning (SBL) considering structure prior. Finally, simulation results verify the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm.
