Analysis of Information Security Governance for Higher Education Institutions

Information security problems in higher education institutions around the world are evident and frequent because there are no adequate models and prototypes based on the culture of education and a globalizing environment. The objective is to analyzed information security governance trends for a higher education institution. The deductive method and exploratory research were used for the analysis of documents and websites related to the research topic. The result of this investigation was Security algorithms using flowchart techniques, Conceptual model for governance, enterprise architecture applying information security governance, Simulations applying indicators and relevant actors for governance. It was concluded that in order to improve the governance of information security in higher education institutions, researchers continue to validate at least the ten relevant actors; In this research, ten simulations were carried out and the best result was obtained, 95% for the governance of information security through the simulations.
