Effect of Beam Profiles on Photoelectric Efficiency of Side-Illuminated HPSI 4H-SiC PCSS

In this letter, effect of core size of optical fiber on photoelectric efficiency of the side-illuminated SiC PCSS is investigated by the experiment and simulation comparison. Slopes of curve for the output voltage versus the bias voltage under the core size of
$200~\mu $
m,
$400~\mu $
m and
$600~\mu $
m are 390.1, 525.7 and 474.8, respectively. The output power of SiC PCSS illuminated by 400-
$\mu $
m fiber is 1.82 and 1.23 times higher than that of 200-
$\mu $
m and 600-
$\mu $
m fiber respectively. By building the model of PCSS illuminated by an optical fiber in ZEMAX and Silvaco, the root reason is that the illuminated length in z direction has a direct influence on photoelectric efficiency. In this case, a novel SiC PCSS with a long-strip electrode equipped with a collimated optical fiber is introduced.
