Clinical Observation on the Treatment of Perimenopausal Insomnia with Acupuncture Combined with Modified Huanglian Wendan Tang

Objective:To explore the effectiveness of acupuncture combined with modified Huanglian Wendan Tang in treating insomnia during perimenopause. Method: Sixty patients with perimenopausal insomnia admitted to our hospital from October 1, 2021 to May 30, 2022 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was treated with Eszolam tablets, while the observation group was treated with acupuncture combined with modified Huanglian Wendan Tang. Compare the clinical efficacy and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) scores between the two groups before and after treatment. Result: The total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the PSQI scores of the two groups significantly decreased, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine can significantly improve clinical efficacy, improve insomnia, and improve the quality of life of patients with perimenopausal insomnia, which is worth promoting and applying.
