Innovation of Blended Learning Model Based on SPOC and Teachermate Platform for Applied Talent Training: With College Spoken English and Western Culture General Education Course as an Example

Catering to the teaching reform of College English General Education course in the background of researching SPOC, this paper discusses the teaching mode of “online self-study learning + offline knowledge enhancement”, combining with Teachermate platform to carry out the blended teaching concept and course design, and applies it to the innovative practice of the blended learning model of College Spoken English and Western Culture General Education course. After a term's teaching practice, this paper conducts an empirical analysis on the teaching effect by using the statistical function of the platform. The results show that the blended learning model based on SPOC and Teachermate platform can provide students with diversified learning resources, meet their personalized learning needs, improve their learning self-efficacy, and facilitate the teaching effect of College Spoken English and Western Culture. It brings a brand-new and diversified interactive learning experience and improves students' comprehensive ability of using English. This study plays a positive role in the teaching model innovation of College English General Education course and the construction of school-based course.
