Study on the Shielding Performance of the Counterpoise for DVOR and DME Antenna Signals

At present, all internationally recognized professional simulation software for civil aviation are unable to simulate the impact of the counterpoise on the shielding performance of DVOR (Doppler VHF Omni-Range) and DME (Distance Measuring Equipment) signals. Research in this specialized domain has only advanced to the theoretical stage, leaving no intuitive reference value for relevant technical personnel. This article studies the reflection characteristics of the grid size and thickness of the counterpoise in the frequency band of DVOR and DME devices. By establishing a steel mesh model of the reflection network, setting corresponding boundary conditions and excitation modes, this study analyzes the variations in S11 (reflection) and S21 (transmission) parameters in response to changes in the mesh size and thickness parameters of the counterpoise. This paper presents reflection and transmission values across various frequencies, sizes, and steel mesh diameters. A definitive conclusion is drawn based on the analysis, providing valuable insight and serves as a reference for the future installation and application of civil aviation DVOR and DME equipment.
