State-independent Linearization Based Load Flow Analysis for Mesh Networks

Mesh distribution networks not only improve the reliability of the power supply, but also increase the use of distributed renewable energy. In order to efficiently deal with the power flow (PF) analysis problems of mesh distribution networks, this paper constructs a state-independent linearization PF model. The proposed model treats the PF equation as a smooth nonlinear manifold, after which it is locally linearized using a tangent plane. The initial linearization point is chosen as a flat starting point, then the linearization point is iteratively updated while the approximate solution gradually converges to the true value, so that the proposed linear model is not affected by the initial state. Finally, through simulation of the modified 34-bus system, it is confirmed that the proposed model can converge quickly and achieve a high approximation accuracy.
