High-Precision Data Recovery for Bubble Charts

Bubble chart is an efficient data visualization tool with wide applications in sociology, economics, medicine, and other fields. Accurate information such as bubble radius and position is crucial for representing and processing raw data. However, in some bubble charts, certain bubbles may be obscured, making it impossible to obtain specific parameter information for the bubbles and thus hindering data analysis. To address this issue, this paper proposes a universal algorithm framework that integrates core steps such as coordinate system mapping, layer separation, connected component extraction, edge extraction, duplicate edge elimination, and Hough transform. Simulation indicates that with a small proportion of exposed edges, the proposed algorithm can accurately extract radius and position information.
