Techno-economic and Environmental Analysis of a 2.5 MW Solar PV Based Power Plant in Bangladesh

Through the implementation of photovoltaic ongrids, this initiative seeks to alleviate energy difficulties in nations like Bangladesh. The adoption of renewable energy sources is increasingly popular globally due to environmental concerns, limited fossil fuels, and shifting prices. Our main focus of our research, on a solar PV system model connected to the grid in Pashchim Khabashpur, Faridpur, Bangladesh. Using the PVsyst simulation software, we analyze the system’s efficiency and energy loss. According to Standard Test Condition (STC) efficiency, the system can generate 3,778 kWh of solar energy annually. After accounting for losses, the annual energy production is 3006 kWh, with 2714 kWh exported to the grid. With an average cost of electricity of 2.17 BDT per kWh, the mean PR is $76.33 \%$, considering the exchange rate of 1 USD to 112 BDT. The evaluation indicates that the PV system linked to the grid has a financially efficient LCOE. It generates a yearly gross income of 29,643 BDT from electricity sales to the grid, with a yearly operating cost of 65,030.30 BDT. Over all the project’s 25 -year lifespan, there is a potential to reduce carbon dioxide $\left(\mathrm{tCO}_{2}\right)$ emissions by 43591.593 metric tons.
