Design and Implementation of Hainan Tropical Fruit Picking Robot Based on OpenMV

The Hainan tropical fruit picking robot based on OpenMV takes Hainan tropical fruit lychee as the research object, focusing on solving the visual recognition problem of the picking robot, achieving rapid recognition of fruits and completing picking actions in complex scenes. The harvesting robot consists of six parts: an Arduino main control module, an OpenMV machine vision module, a motor drive module, a motion motor, a 2-degree-of-freedom gimbal, and a 6-degree-of-freedom robotic arm. The OpenMV visual sensor utilizes algorithms such as grayscale, filtering, binarization, dilation, and corrosion to process the images captured by the camera, thereby achieving recognition and localization of picking targets. Transmit data to the main control module through serial communication. The main control module controls the robot’s motion trajectory based on data information, bringing the motion platform closer to the fruit tree, and controlling a 6-degree-of-freedom robotic arm to complete the fruit picking task.
