Resilient and Sustainable Microgrid Controller Development with Real Time Simulations

Microgrid concept plays a significant role when integrating modular-scale renewable energy systems into distribution systems, to enhance energy sustainability. This paper contains a novel development of a microgrid controlling platform to achieve distribution system resiliency and sustainability, performed by Smart Grid Research Lab (SGRL), University of Moratuwa (UoM), Sri Lanka. This microgrid controller integrated Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) established in SGRL into a common platform to act as a research level microgrid. The paper contains the architecture of control platform and its significance which are validated with real-time simulations.
