Current Carrying Capacity Evaluation of Transmission Lines by Lasso Method Based on Multi-Modal Data

The transmission line is a key equipment in power systems, which undertakes the power energy transmission work. The dynamic capacity enhancement technology is useful tool to improve the transmission capacity of the line. In addition, the evaluation of the current carrying capacity of the transmission line is the core link of the dynamic capacity enhancement technology. Aimed at the calculation problem of the current carrying capacity of the transmission line, in this paper, a Lasso method is proposed and the comparison with some traditional methods is carried out, such as the IEC method and the simplified Morgan method. From the results, it can be clearly seen that the proposed Lasso method presents a lower calculation error from a holistic perspective, and presents a good coincidence degree with the SCADA data at 11:00. In addition, by comparing the average coincidence degree with the SCADA data for above methods, the proposed Lasso method presents an advantage on the calculation accuracy of the current carrying capacity of transmission line. This paper provides a technology support for the similar evaluation of the current carrying capacity.
