Application of Nonlinear Oscillator in Artificial Heartbeat Generator

In this study, two kinds of nonlinear oscillators (i.e. Van del Pol and Duffing oscillators) with limit cycle behavior are evaluated as the artificial heartbeat generator. Through using dynamic HRA analysis, the Van der Pol oscillator does not have the HRA property of a real RRI series. However, the dynamic HRA indices (i.e. GI, PI) of the Duffing Oscillator have the same asymmetry characteristics as the real RRI series. Based on the proposed artificial RRI model, the artificial ECG signal has the physiological characteristics of HRA and HRV.
