Research Analysis Conducted through Sentinel 2A Data to Compare Two Indices to Enhance Detection of Lateritic Bauxite

Aim: The research examines the availability of bauxite in the region of Kolli- Malai hills of Tamil Nadu State. Data was created using ESA Copernicus pixel values and was then assessed using SNAP 9.0, a GIS and remote sensing programme. Lateritic bauxite capping may be found in Tamil Nadu, Kollimalai hills, correspondingly, at elevations of around 1300 m. Materials and Methods: Mineral resources prospecting makes extensive use of remote sensing. The goal of this study is to highlight the broad spectral details of the bauxite in Tamil Nadu’s Kolli Hills areas. The spatial and spectral data in the VNIR and SWIR portions of the data were utilized in this mineral investigation. This study’s method, known as spectral unmixing, was utilized to target the bauxite-rich zones as well as the other elements in the bauxite. This technique emphasizes the bauxite zones and offers mineral abundance. The data was generated with the GIS software SNAP 9.0 and the image processing under a few planning methodologies after which pixel values were generated by 2 formulations. One is the lateritic formula and the other is the Modified lateritic-based formula. Results: The classification of materials according to their spectral uniqueness is aided by spectral analysis. The article uses the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26 to continue operating traditional forecasting research outcomes and to upgrade the lateritic conceptional formulae data of pixel values. Both the categories of the group sample test and independent sample test were 95% correctly precise with a variation in the significance of 0.057 which satisfies (p≤. 0.05). The bauxite formed over the Deccan basin basalts had a variety of features. The top layer of bauxite/laterite displays porous structures and a reddish to off-white appearance. Conclusion: The purpose of the research was to show how hyperspectral remote sensing may be used for mineral prospecting. As a conclusion, the required output was generated by utilizing the pixel values as performed in the methodology. Bauxite is very important for the production of aluminium which is the raw material for the generation of various things. But excess mining of bauxite can lead to various troubleshoots and hence need to be managed in the correct order while dealing with its performance.
