ATO Target Speed Following Control Strategy Considering of Energy-Saving

Automatic train operation (ATO) enables autonomous train movement by controlling various actuators on the train, playing a crucial role in reducing the operational costs of rail transit systems and enhancing train safety. This paper addresses the issues of poor tracking accuracy and weak energy optimization effects in the speed-following control process of automatic train operation using a single control strategy. On the basis of the traditional ATO speed-following control strategy, we propose an intelligent agent-based target speed-following control strategy, combined with the optimization of the target speed-following control strategy under cruising conditions, to achieve energy-saving train operation. We established a simulation model of the target speed-following controller for ATO in MATLAB/Simulink. By comparing the tracking accuracy, energy-saving, and other performance indicators with PID and fuzzy PID controls, we verified the effectiveness of the proposed strategy and model.
