Demo: Flood Damage CyRealization with an Orchestrator Framework

We aim to develop a cyber-physical system, which orchestrates various factors related to disaster damage. Conventional simulations on disaster damage (river flooding, road flooding, for example) have been developed as proprietary systems, and it has been difficult to analyze damage in light of their interaction. This includes real-time estimation of flood damage using observational data, evacuation behavior, and the impact of flood damage on communication infrastructure. The framework enables progressive simulations that emphasize interaction by simultaneously working with simulators and systems on multiple factors. Therefore, it is expected that urban flooding, victims, and communication failures can be simulated in an integrated manner to analyze the damage that a city would suffer from a disaster. This paper develops a data exchange function with network access among the features this framework should have, and investigates whether such a progressive simulation is feasible. We apply this data exchange function to simulators and systems related to flood evacuation. We orchestrate different simulators and systems, such as flood analysis simulators, evacuation simulators, and information services, then develop a prototype using data from an actual flooded area.
