UWB Anchor Deployment Optimization Based on Improved Artificial Rabbits Optimization

The ultra-wideband (UWB) indoor positioning system has attracted wide attention due to its high ranging accuracy and strong anti-interference capability. It is well known that the relative geometric relationship of UWB anchor nodes (ANs) can seriously affect the positioning accuracy of tags. In complex indoor environments, the optimal deployment of ANs is of particular significance to produce better accuracy in finding node locations. In order to ameliorate the comprehensive positioning performance, an AN deployment optimization algorithm based on an iterative strategy improved artificial rabbits optimization (ISI-ARO) algorithm has been proposed. The algorithm searches for the optimal AN location by minimizing the positional dilution of precision (PDOP) and the average positioning error. Examples are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
