Impact of Barium Doping to Bismuth Ferrite on the Size of the Particle in Spray Pyrolysis Developed Thin Films

The Spray pyrolysis method is used to develop thin films of both pure and barium-doped bismuth ferrite. The Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDAX) spectra verify the presence of barium, bismuth, and ferrous particles. The Williamson-Hall (WH) plot method is utilized to determine the size of the crystallite in the developed thin films. It is seen from the results that the crystallite size decreases as the dopant concentration increases. The barium dopant added results in the decrease of particle size which is obtained by considering the Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) images after the calculation of particle size. As the study of the variation of the size of the particle is one of the significant parameters in the development of gas sensors, this research work considers the changes in particle sizes caused by barium doping on thin films of bismuth ferrite.
